Kalman D. Blumberg, M.D.
Dr. Kal Blumberg is a south Florida native, He received his B.S. at Tulane and his M.D. at the University of Miami. He received his spine surgery fellowship from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital & Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
He is married, with three children and loves to fish and to spend time on the water, particularly enjoying the environment of the Florida Keys flats and backcountry. He’s a tournament level fisherman, having won the prestigious Redbone Tournament which supports research to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
Kevin Douglas Cairns, M.D.
Dr. Kevin Cairns was born in Los Angeles, received his M.D. from New York Medical College and fulfilled his residency at Harvard Medical School. He also received a fellowship in neurology from Harvard as well as a fellowship in Interventional Spine Physiatry from Georgia Pain Physicians, Emory University in Atlanta. He is an expert in Peripheral Nerve Field Stimulation and stays on the leading edge of innovation in non-invasive and minimally invasive spinal treatments.
He is married. An outdoor enthusiast, he is a tri-athlete who also enjoys windsurfing, fishing, music and theatre.
Harold Lawrence Dalton, D.O.
Dr. Larry Dalton was born in Norfolk, VA, and raised in Melbourne, FL. He received both his B.S. and M.S. in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida. He fulfilled his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago/Northwestern University, and was an Interventional Spine Physiatry Fellow at Georgia Pain Physicians/Emory University, receiving his fellowship in interventional pain management.
Dr. Dalton is married with two children. His wide range of interests include fishing, exercise, cooking, travel, scuba, college football, and martial arts.
Dr. Giuseppe Paese, DO, FAAPMR
Dr. Giuseppe Paese, has over 25 years of experience in clinical practice and in the academic arena. Dr. Paese has dedicated his career to the treatment of pain and rehabilitation of the body.
Dr. Paese is a highly trained and educated physician who holds board certifications in five separate specialties. He is board certified in Stem Cell Therapies, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine and Chiropractic.
Dr. Paese’s holistic approach has always led him to pursue treating the cause of disorders rather than just treating the symptoms. In 2001, Dr. Paese began implementing the technique of Prolotherapy into his practice to aid in his treatment of pain, injured joints and arthritis. The natural progression from the concept of Prolotherapy has been the development of Biocellular/Stem Cell Therapy. Stem cell research has been at the forefront of modern medicine and will be the future of medicine for years to come. Dr. Paese’s pursuit of providing his patients with the latest advances in modern medicine compelled him to complete an additional fellowship in Stem Cell Therapy through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
Dr. Paese graduated from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency from Detroit Medical Center (DMC)/Wayne State University (WSU) and then went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Pain Medicine from DMC/WSU as well. Dr. Paese also holds a Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan University and a certification in Chiropractic Sports Medicine (CCSP) from National University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Paese’s skills, expertise and extensive training set him apart from all others in his field. His bedside manner is also personable and attentive. Dr. Paese is licensed to practice medicine in four states; Florida, Illinois, Michigan and California. He has been awarded the prestigious honor of Hour Detroit Magazine Top Doctor for 6 years in Pain Medicine/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Cami Dunham, PA-C
Cami has been a physician assistant working in the field of spine and pain management for the last eleven years. She is a 1999 graduate of the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant program, and a 1997 graduate of Kansas State University.
Amanda Oloughlin, PA-C
Amanda has been practicing as a physician assistant since 2006. She attended PA school at Nova Southeastern University and undergrad at the University of Florida. She lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband and two daughters and enjoys running and yoga.
Tony Salvador PA-C
Tony is also a Florida native. He was born in Cocoa Beach Florida and attended satellite High School. After High School he joined the United States Marine Corps and served for 10 years. Upon completion of his service, Tony attended Nova Southeastern University and received his degree in physician assistant studies. Since graduation in June of 1999 he has been in the orthopedic field in various disciplines such as Sports Medicine, joint replacement, trauma and now he is dedicated to the specialty of spine surgery.

Michelle Cleveland-Gonzalez, MSPT
Michelle is originally from Battle Creek, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. In 1999, she moved to Florida to attend the University of Miami where she received her Master of Science degree in physical therapy. She has 8 years of experience in orthopedic spinal physical therapy. Michelle also teaches Pilates classes at the Florida Spine Specialists facility twice a week. She lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband, Jorge, and together they enjoy exercise, boating, and other outdoor activities.
Nicole Adler, LPTA
Nicole is a native of south florida, and attended Pine Crest School. She earned her bachelor of science from Florida State University in communication. After ten years in her field, she switched careers and entered the field of physical therapy. She trained at Broward College, and was board certified in 2005. Nicole has specialized in physical therapy for the spine for the past 6 years.
Kara has been a Registered Nurse for 12 years after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She started out in the Emergency Department and worked there for three years, until moving into Interventional Radiology (IR). IR continues to be her favorite area of practice and she is a member of the Association of Radiologic and Imaging Nurses (ARIN), which carried over into her career here at FSS. Kara also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.
Wendy is a recent transplant and native of the Philadelphia area. Prior to her nursing career, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/paralegal certificate and held various positions in law firms, global corporations and a restaurant franchise. After another company merger and layoff, at age 34, she decided to go to nursing school. She enrolled in an accelerated career entry program at Drexel University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in just 11 months. Her nursing career started in cardiac telemetry and ICU step down, which led to several years of hospice nursing – a favorite specialty. Recently, Wendy lived at the beach for 10 years on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware where she worked for spine/pain relief specialists.
Rosa was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in south Florida. Prior to becoming a nurse, Rosa was involved in federal construction management and worked closely with the General Services Administration in Miami, FL. She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 3 years and began her nursing career in cardiology. Rosa has also worked in Infectious Disease Infusion, Neurotology, and Rheumatology. Her compassionate approach helps to ensure that all patients receive the best care possible. Nursing is her passion and she will be returning to school this year to pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. Rosa enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and kayaking.
Jenna Smith, RN
Jenna is a South Florida native growing up in the Fort Lauderdale area. She has been a Registered Nurse for 7 years working in multiple areas of nursing including adult IMCU step-down, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Vascular Surgery. Before coming to FSS, she was in the healthcare recruiting industry which lead her back to her passion of Nursing.
Christi Lee, LPN
Christi Lee has experience in the medical field for over 20 years working as a Registered Pharmacy Technician. She graduated with her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate 5 years ago. Christi Lee is currently attending Palm Beach State College for her Associates in Science in Nursing and will be graduating next year. She looks forward to reaching her goal of obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Nursing within the next 2 years.
Nichole McKiever, RN
Nicole is from New York and completed her nursing education in Massachusetts. She moved to South Florida 3 years ago. She has worked as a circulating RN in plastic surgery and in a vascular procedural suite performing pre-op, moderate sedation, and recovery. She lives with her daughter, husband, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
Sabrina Filteau, Dr. Blumberg’s Surgery Scheduler
Sabrina is originally from Montreal, Canada and speaks French fluently. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse working exclusively with Dr. Blumberg’s surgical patients. She ensures that they receive the best of pre-op and post-op care. Her compassionate approach helps patients relax and be as comfortable as possible. Sabrina received her training and graduated from Atlantic Technical Center. She lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband, Antonio, and they enjoy traveling.
Jennifer Brown-Woolweaver, Dr. Dalton’s Assistant
Jennifer grew up in South Florida and graduated from Fort Lauderdale High. She has been in the spine field for over 15 years. She works both the front and back offices. She is married with three children, all boys.
Christina Parker-Manley, Dr Cairn’s Medical Assistant
Christina has been an employee of Florida Spine Specialists for the past three years. She is Dr. Cairn’s Assistant. Her compassion and positive approach helps her patients feel relaxed and comfortable as possible. She enjoys spending time with her children, baking, crafting, doing volunteer work and reading. She is active in the community, and has been a foster parent for the last 2 years.

Shakera Hamilton, Xray Technician
Shakera Hamiltone has been a Radiologic Technologist for 3yrs. She graduated from West Boca School of Radiologic Technology and has 7yrs of medical experience. Great patient care is what she strives for. Shakera is the newest team member to Florida Spine Specialists.
Deborah is a medical scribe for Dr. Dalton. Her family is originally from Brazil, but she’s has lived her whole life in South Florida. She is to be married later this year. Her hobbies include traveling, snorkeling, reading, and any arts-and-crafts project. Her passion moving forward in marriage and education is to involve herself in the Adoption and Foster Care system of South Florida.
Kaitlin is a one of our patient runners. She has great passion for helping people. Her hobbies include music, art, and traveling. She has lived in Fort Lauderdale for over 10 years, with the beach being her favorite place.
Jessica Heinemann, Medical Scribe for Dr. Paese
Jessica has lived in South Florida her whole life. She is to be married next year and is currently enrolled in college to get her bachelor’s degree in business management. She enjoys baking, crafting, going to the beach, and spending time with her fiancé, two dogs, and a cat.
Lisa has been the Practice Administrator for the Florida Spine Specialists for over 20 years. She is in charge of all facets of administration. She and her staff are dedicated to providing you with a seamless and pleasant health care experience.
Her philosophy for managing a successful physicians office and keeping a happy staff results in happy patients. She leads by example, hires smart people and empowers them to be successful.
Heather works in the billing and collections department at Florida Spine Specialists. Heather has lived in central Florida for almost her whole life and moved to South Florida 10 years ago. She earned her Associates degree in Business Administration and Legal Assisting at Central Florida Community College in 2004. She has worked in the medical field for more than 20 years. She has been with Florida Spine Specialists in the billing department for the last eight years.
Nancy Nelms, Authorization Specialists
Nancy has been a part of the Florida Spine Specialists team for almost seven years. She is an authorizations representative and works diligently to ensure all procedures are approved. She strives for every patient to have a positive experience. She is married with two children and one grandson. She enjoys crafting, reading, and hopes to travel to Italy in the near future.
Susan Soehngen, Authorization Specialists
Susan has been part of the Florida Spine Specialists team since 2010. She relocated to Denver for two and a half years, but found her heart is in Florida. We are happy to have her back as an authorizations representative once again. She works diligently to ensure approvals are obtained in a timely manner for patients to receive the best care. She resides in Fort Lauderdale with her yorkie, Prince. Her daughter, son-in-law and grandson still live in Denver. Susan enjoys gardening, crossword puzzles and cooking.
Angela LaTorre, Front Desk Receptionist
Angela came from Brooklyn, New York back in 2004. She has an Associates in Medical Billing & Coding and a Bachelors in business management. She has been in the medical field for more than 8 years.
Denise Shields, Billing and Collections
Denise is a native of Philadelphia, where she attended Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. She relocated to South Florida, just over two years ago. Denise spent nine years working as a Specialist Clerk at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, where she assisted in trading options and stocks. Denise works in the billing and collections department at Florida Spine Specialists. In her leisure time Denise enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach!
Juseidi Munoz Perez, Chart Abstractor
Juseidi is an authorizations representative. She makes it priority to ensure approvals are obtained in a timely manner to provide the best patient care. You can also find her working in a number of areas in the facility as a supportive team member. She is married with two children. In her leisure time she enjoys traveling with her family.
